For those online shopping (网购) lovers, now it is the best time of the year, because Nov 11, China’s Singles’ Day (光棍节), will see many as low as 50% discounts (打折) – even lower than that. Last year, Taobao, a major online shopping website, set a record of 1 billion yuan in sales on that day alone. Are you willing to do the most wonderful shopping online? Read through the following tips.
Be prepared. Choose things early and reasonably. Put everything you want in the “shopping cart”. Then go through it carefully, make sure the things you have listed are really what you want.
Order the things earlier. Talk to shop assistants as early as possible. They may have already decided on a discount rule for Nov 11 and may even send you the things you have ordered earlier than Nov11, which is a good way to avoid the heavy online traffic on the special day.
Look at the real things from the shops or somewhere else. Many things, such as shoes and clothes, it’s better to look at them first to check their qualities and sizes.
It’s all about timing. There are several rush hours when online traffic is heavy and there is a higher risk of failed shopping. Try to avoid the following time: 10-11 am, 12 pm-1:30 am, 3-5 pm, and 8-10 pm.
Use a helping hand. A software(软件) like Huihui Shopping lists the best offers on a special website, while Yitao, developed by Alibaba, compares prices of chosen things across different websites. These helping hands can bring you the best decision.
Open your package and check it. When the package arrives, check it carefully before writing your name.
Now you can go and enjoy all your new trips of shopping!

A LOT of people want to be excellent painters to make their life more colorful. However, many of them don’t even have the confidence to pick up the coloring pen, let alone (更不用说) painting colors.
I used to be such a person. I always lacked (缺少) confidence in learning.       66      . For example, when I finished the English exercises, I couldn’t help checking my answers with the other students before handing them in.       67       .
68       after I read an article about my hero Lin Dan. Lin is a famous badminton player who has won many prizes not only because of his hard work, but also because he always believes in himself.
69       . Who can talk or walk when they are born? Nobody! But as long as we believe in ourselves and keep trying, we will be able to do more and more things as we grow up.
From then on, I always try to be confident. In class, I often put up my hand and speak my opinions.       70       .
I am happy that I have bravely picked up my coloring pen in life. How about you?

I am sure nobody will forget the Tangshan earthquake, especially Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. Over 1,000 earthquakes have happened in China since the 20th century. But do you know how to protect (保护) yourselves during the earthquake?
If you are indoors--stay there! Get under a desk or table, or move into a hallway or an outside wall. Get out of the kitchen, which is a dangerous place (things can fall on you). Don’t run downstairs or rush outside while the building is shaking or while there is danger of being hurt by falling glass or something dangerous.
If you are outside--get into the open, keep away from buildings, power lines, chimneys (烟囱), and anything else that might fall on you.
If you are driving--stop, but carefully. Move your car out of traffic as far as possible. Do not stop on or under a bridge or under trees, light posts, power lines, or signs. Stay inside your car until the shaking stops.
If you are in a mountainous area--watch out for falling rock, landslides, trees or other dangerous things.
Lives are so valuable (珍贵) to all of us, so we should learn how to protect ourselves when an earthquake happens.
